We tried to hit Pizza Uncommon on opening weekend, made it all the way to the register, and then turned right back around when they told us it’d be a 90-minute wait. We gave it a couple weeks, circled back, and this time we got right in.

The space itself is pretty sharp: there’s a massive bar counter on one side, and a giant mural on the wall that makes it feel a little more fun than your average strip-mall pizza joint. It still looked like they were finishing up some of the details inside, but the ovens were running and that’s the important part.

The garlic cheesy bread was 10/10 no notes, it was just what you hope for - warm fluffy pull apart style dough smothered in cheese and garlic seasoning. I always get the nacho dipping sauce and Chris gets marinara for dipping.

I ordered the Crab Rangoon pizza with olive oil, mozzarella, crab blend, scallions, wonton strips, and sweet & sour sauce. It really did taste just like crab rangoon, which was fun, but after three slices it started to feel too sweet to finish a whole pizza by myself. Definitely something I’d recommend splitting.

Chris kept it classic with the double pepperoni and bacon, and honestly, he won the ordering game. Just the right amount of greasiness, pepperoni spice cutting through, bacon adding nice salty chewy bits. A flawless classic pie, the kind of thing you could eat every weekend and never get tired of.

Pizza Uncommon opened with a splash and has enough fun varieties to keep me coming back to try more - and since they executed flawlessly on the basics, you can rest assured this pizza isn't just a novelty gimmick.
