Nino's Pizza in VFW Post 6246 in Noblesville

So here’s something I didn’t expect: really solid pizza inside a VFW. When you hear “pizza place in a veterans’ hall,” you think snack bar pizza, right? Like a Red Baron situation heated up next to the popcorn machine. But Nino’s is the opposite of that. They’ve got a proper kitchen, a family recipe sauce, and they’re turning out pies that hold their own.
I got The Nino Pizza (Chicago Italian Beef): red sauce, mozzarella blend, tender Italian beef, and giardiniera peppers. The crust had a legit cook on it - soft but crisped up, not floppy, not overdone. I kept waiting for the weak link and it never came. Pretty decent all around. It's a little fluffier than tavern style, and not as greasy, but square cut and fairly thin.
Meanwhile, the vibe was… something else. Bingo was happening behind and all around us, and people were locked in. I’m talking serious bingo energy. Every time someone called out a win, the room popped off. Drinks were comically cheap compared to anywhere else in town. I got a double whiskey and Coke for what felt like 2005 dive bar prices.
This was my first time ever inside a VFW. I always assumed it was members-only, some kind of secret veteran clubhouse, but turns out the public is welcome (at least here). Between the unexpectedly good pizza, bargain bar drinks, and the bingo people watching, it was a memorable and cheap evening.

If you’re looking for a pizza experience that’s a little off the beaten path, Nino’s at the VFW is worth a stop.
